Quetta Gladiators owner and Omar Associates’ Director, Nadeem Omar, has said that he would support local players who could be feeling the financial pinch due to the cancellation of the Ramzan cricket season, Daily Jang reported on Monday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced that it won’t be issuing any No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for Ramzan tournaments due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The development could have consequences for local cricketers, especially those for whom Ramzan tournaments were a major part of their income.

Omar, however, has stepped up to announce that those players who have represented the franchise or Omar Associates and are under financial stress could ask them for help.

Omar Associates Manager Azam Khan, meanwhile, urged other team owners to do their part and help out those daily wage earners in cricketing ecosystem whose livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic.
