Babar Azam has made it clear that his loyalties lie with his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings, and that swapping the port city side for his hometown club Lahore Qalandars is not on his agenda.

During an Instagram live chat with Test skipper Azhar Ali, the Lahore-born batsman answered a question on whether he would like to play for the Qalandars.

"One should not leave the team they have been playing for. I have been playing for Karachi Kings from the start so I should stick with them," Babar answered.

"Just because I am performing well doesn’t mean that I should keep changing my team," he added.

Lahore Qalandars have had mixed experience with its local players. The franchise's association with Umar Akmal was an unmitigated disaster, whereas the likes of Haris Rauf have done well in other leagues but failed to replicated the same in PSL.

Captain Sohail Akhtar and emerging fast bowler Dilbar Hussain have done decently but neither are players the franchise relies upon.
