Coronavirus nothing to worry about: ‘Expert’ on Shoaib Akhtar’s YT show

Fast bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar has been putting out some contradictory content on his YouTube channel lately. Just last week, he was telling (almost ordering) his fans to stay home, maintain social distancing and cut out Whatsapp quackery.

In his latest video, however, he himself was not home, he interviewed someone without maintaining any distance whatsoever, and he let a big pharma businessman tell everyone that the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) is nothing to worry about for Pakistan.

“I have some good news,” the businessman says upon being insisted upon by the Rawalpindi Express to deliver “some assurances so people do not fall into depression”.

The ‘good’ news was a link between malaria and Covid-19, the conclusion of which was that the countries that are hit by the former are unlikely to be as susceptible to the latter.

The ‘expert’, who has a degree in finance, also claims that Pakistanis’ immunity is a lot ‘tagri’ (stronger) than that of goras (white people). Akhtar’s face instantly brightens up.

On top of everything, the pair combines to recommend “4-5 doses” of hydroxychloroquine in case you catch the virus. “Do consult your doctor” warning is sneakily added somewhere but it largely gets drowned between the virtual prescriptions being touted by a retired cricketer and a Chamber of Commerce member.

It's still decent entertainment so why not watch the full video below and see if it makes sense for you:
