Aleem Dar's restaurant offers free food to jobless amid coronavirus crisis

Coronavirus: In a bid to combat the problems associated to the virus Aleem Dar announces free food for the needy

Internationally renowned umpire Aleem Dar on Thursday announced that his Lahore-based restaurant Dar’s Delighto will be offering free food to the needy as the country grapples with the coronavirus pandemic.

In a video message posted on Twitter, Dar explained that the pandemic was wreaking havoc in its wake, leaving people jobless and in need for sustenance. In a bid to counteract this, the umpire announced that the needy can dine at his facility free of cost.

"The virus has left many people jobless and I offer them free food Dar’s Delighto. May Allah protect the people from this virus. Ameen," he said.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that its centrally contracted players will make a collective donation of Rs5 million to the government’s emergency fund to fight the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Furthermore, the PCB has decided to convert its Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre (HPC) as a temporary living facility for the paramedic staff working at the makeshift hospital at Expo Centre, Karachi.
