The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) can grant suspended Umar Akmal more time to respond to the corruption charges against him due to lockdowns across the country caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Akmal, who is accused of not reporting to the PCB two separate spot-fixing approaches, has until March 30 (Monday) to either plead guilty to the charges and accept a punishment as per Agreed Sanctions, or take it to trial.

However, given the current situation, the PCB is likely to extend the deadline, provided that Akmal makes a request in this regard, Daily Jang reported.

Until Thursday night, the troubled batsman had not contacted the PCB with any such requests.
