The upcoming 2020 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended till April 15 due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday.

"The BCCI is concerned and sensitive about all its stakeholders, and public health in general, and is taking all necessary steps to ensure that all people related to the IPL, including fans, have a safe cricketing experience," the Indian board said in a statement.

The IPL is the largest and the most cash-rich T20 cricket league in the world and reportedly earns half a billion euros every season.

While the BCCI has suspended it's cash cow, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Sindh government's orders, has only banned fans from the stadium during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 matches, and that too in just Karachi.

It remains unclear what the authorities would do with the remaining fixtures of PSL 2020 in Lahore.
