Lahore Qalandars have more to them than just Ben Dunk: Imad Wasim

PSL 2020: Lahore Qalandars have more to them than just Ben Dunk, says Imad Wasim

Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim on Wednesday admitted that he was in awe of Ben Dunk's match-winning knock against his side last week but discouraged the notion that the resurgent Lahore Qalandars were a one-man team.

The Qalandars had chased down the 188-run target in the two sides' first encounter in Lahore on Sunday, courtesy an unbeaten 99 by Dunk, who had a record 12 sixes in what was possibly the innings of his career.

“That was one, unique innings. I had not seen any such innings before,” Wasim told media in Karachi on the eve of the side's reverse fixture.

“But Ben Dunk is not the only one. We have to plan for each member of the Qalandars as any of them can pose a threat to us. If not Ben, then they have Lynn, if not him then Fakhar [Zaman] or [Mohammad] Hafeez. We have to be at our best against them,” he said.

Wasim said that Lahore have the momentum with them at the right time and so it was important for his Karachi side to put breaks on their in-form opponents.

He admitted that his own side's performances have not be to his own liking.

“We haven’t played our A-grade cricket yet. We have only played our B-level game. Hopefully, we will improve from here and play positively,” he added.
