LAHORE: The renovation of Lahore's iconic Gaddafi Stadium has entered its final phase ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place from February 19 to March 9.
In addition to the extensive upgrades, a captivating light show is set to entertain fans.
The testing of the light show has begun, along with the activation of the newly installed LED floodlights on the six towers of the stadium.
The installation process is a significant part of the ongoing upgrades, which are expected to be completed by January 30.
Each of the six floodlight towers has been equipped with new LED floodlights, and the lights are being tested individually to ensure their proper functioning.
Gaddafi Stadium will host at least four thrilling matches during the Champions Trophy, including the second semi-final on March 5.
The stadium is also a potential venue for the final, scheduled for March 9, should India fail to qualify for the showdown.
The Champions Trophy, featuring eight teams and 15 matches, will be held across three venues in Pakistan—Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi—alongside Dubai.
The teams are divided into two groups: Group A, which includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh; and Group B, which features Afghanistan, South Africa, England and Australia.
The tournament kicks off with the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi, while the highly anticipated Pakistan vs India clash will take place on February 23 in Dubai.
