The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled its official promotional video for the 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy on Wednesday, featuring an all-star cast of cricketing icons in a thrilling, action-packed cinematic sequence.
The video highlights Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan alongside England’s Phil Salt in a wrestling-inspired, adrenaline-filled narrative.
Drawing inspiration from the high-octane aesthetics of the Mission: Impossible film series, the promo portrays teams engaging in a dramatic heist to secure the coveted Champions Trophy.
The sequence opens with Shaheen and Shadab embarking on a covert operation to claim the trophy, while India’s Hardik Pandya makes a bold entrance to intensify the suspense.
Shadab Khan shines as the ultimate sidekick, lowering Shaheen into a vault through an air vent in a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood blockbuster.
Hardik Pandya is shown deftly dodging lasers in an acrobatic display, evoking Fast & Furious vibes.
Phil Salt makes an electrifying appearance, seemingly materialising out of thin air, while Mohammad Nabi is seen taking an underground route to add to the intrigue.
In a nod to WWE fans, the ICC also shared a promo featuring Shaheen, Shadab, and Phil Salt pulling off a signature fist bump in the style of The Shield, adding an extra layer of excitement to the campaign.
It is pertinent to mention that the eight-team tournament, comprised of 15 matches, will run from February 19 to March 9, across three venues – Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi – in Pakistan and Dubai.
The teams are divided into two groups. Group A features Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while Group B is comprised of Afghanistan, South Africa, England and Australia.
Hosts Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the curtain raiser on February 19 in Karachi, while the blockbuster clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
