MULTAN: Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan etched his name in history on Sunday, becoming one of Pakistan's elite wicketkeepers by achieving a significant milestone during the first Test against the West Indies.

Rizwan now boasts 107 dismissals in just 64 innings, placing him among Pakistan's top wicketkeeping greats.

The record for the most dismissals by a Pakistani wicketkeeper in Test cricket is held by Wasim Bari, with 228 dismissals in 146 innings.

Kamran Akmal follows closely with 206 dismissals in 99 innings, while Sarfaraz Ahmed has 182 dismissals in 104 innings.

Moin Khan and Rashid Latif round out the top performers with 147 dismissals in 118 innings and 130 dismissals in 69 innings, respectively.

The milestone came as Pakistan's spin attack orchestrated a dominant performance, dismantling the West Indies for a mere 123 runs in pursuit of a 251-run target.

The visitors began cautiously but faced early setbacks. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite was the first to fall, dismissed by Sajid Khan for 12 at 16/1.

Sajid continued to wreak havoc, removing Keacy Carty (6) and Kavem Hodge (0) in quick succession, leaving the West Indies at a precarious 32/3.

Mikyle Louis contributed 13 runs before succumbing to Sajid, who completed his four-wicket haul with the dismissal of Greaves for 9.

Noman Ali added to the West Indies' woes, claiming Greaves as his lone scalp.

A 41-run partnership between Athanaze and Imlach offered brief resistance before Abrar Ahmed broke through, dismissing Imlach.

Abrar went on to remove Sinclair and Gudakesh Motie, claiming his third wicket, while Sajid completed a five-wicket haul by dismissing Athanaze, the West Indies' top scorer with 55.

Abrar capped off the innings with his fourth wicket, bundling the visitors out for 123.

With this emphatic 127-run victory, Pakistan leads the series 1-0. The second Test is set to take place from January 25-29, where Pakistan will aim to seal the series.
