MULTAN: Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan made history on Sunday by reaching a significant milestone during the third day of the ongoing first Test against the West Indies.

The right-arm spinner claimed his 50th Test wicket in the match, etching his name in the record books. He reached this landmark after dismissing West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite.

His 50th wicket places him among the fastest bowlers from Pakistan to achieve the milestone, doing so in just his 11th Test match.

The 31-year-old's feat earned him the distinction of being the third-fastest Pakistani bowler to take 50 Test wickets.

The record for the fastest to reach the mark belongs to leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who achieved it in only nine matches.

Other notable bowlers on the list include Waqar Younis, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Asif, and Mohammad Abbas, who are tied for second place.

Sajid's performance has been a testament to his skill and consistency, and he has now firmly established himself as a bowler to reckon with on the international stage.

He was also a key performer with the ball in the West Indies' first innings, claiming four wickets, while Noman Ali supported with five wickets to help bundle out the visitors for just 137 runs.

In the ongoing Test, West Indies' Jomel Warrican stole the show with career-best figures of 7/32, demolishing Pakistan’s batting lineup and limiting them to just 157 runs in 46.4 overs.

Pakistan resumed their innings at 109/3 but quickly found themselves under pressure as they lost two wickets in rapid succession.

Vice-captain Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan were both dismissed for just two runs, courtesy of Warrican’s brilliant spells.

At 113/5, Pakistan's situation worsened further when Kamran Ghulam departed after scoring 27 runs, making the scoreline 113/5 in 33.3 overs.

Warrican continued to dominate, registering his maiden five-wicket haul, becoming the first West Indies spinner to achieve this feat against Pakistan on their home soil.

He soon sent Noman Ali packing, followed by Sajid Khan, as Pakistan’s batting faltered under the relentless pressure from the West Indies bowlers.

Warrican’s accurate deliveries resulted in another casualty when he ran out Khurram Shahzad for a duck with a direct hit, leaving Pakistan at 154/9 in 44.5 overs.

Finally, Godakesh Motie claimed the last wicket of Salman Ali Agha, who scored 14 runs, and Pakistan was all out for 157.
