KARACHI: Pakistan’s right-arm emerging pacer Ihsanullah reversed his retirement from Pakistan Super League (PSL) just hours after announcing to boycott the marquee league.

The right-arm pacer, who was one of the most notable players to go unpicked in the PSL 10 player draft, voiced his disappointment on the development and had vowed to not participate in the league again.

The 22-year-old pacer, however, in an exclusive interview with Geo Super, shared that his decision was emotional and he has no plan to retire.

“It’s just that you know that the franchises did not pick me and I was irked by masses and my family so that’s why made the decision emotionally,” said Ihsanullah.

“I would not make that decision. I will work hard, there are four months in the PSL and by the will of Almighty Allah, those who did not select me, will pick me later on. So, I have no plan to retire, my statement was influenced by emotions,” he added.

The right-arm pacer, who stole the limelight in the PSL 8 with his searing pace which helped him taking 22 wickets at an average of 15.77 and an economy rate of 7.59, also addressed the concerns regarding his bowling speed, sharing that he is bowling consistently at an average of 135 kmph.

“I’m bowling at 130-135 daily as per the speed gun which is equivalent to 140 kmph you see on TV. A day ago, I bowled with more force during a match in Peshawar and I clocked in at 142 kmph.

“So, I will improve gradually. There’s a lot of time in the PSL and there are domestic tournaments coming up as well. So, by the will of Almighty Allah, I will definitely make a comeback and make my fans happy.

“The decision I made last night was wrong and I would like to apologise to the franchises. I should not have taken a decision in anger.”

The right-arm pacer then went on to thank the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for giving him opportunity to bowl at domestic level.
