In less than three months, Gaddafi Stadium has undergone a remarkable transformation, with significant strides made in the construction and renovation process.
The grey structure is now 100% complete, and the finishing work is progressing rapidly.
The stadium, which boasts a capacity of over 34,000 spectators, is set to offer a completely revamped experience.
The installation of modern lighting is nearing its final stages, adding to the stadium’s contemporary appeal. Notably, the view of the ground from the general enclosures has significantly improved, offering spectators an enhanced match-day experience.
Additionally, the installation of new scoreboards on both sides of the ground is currently underway, further enhancing the venue’s appeal.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, recently visited Gaddafi Stadium for a detailed inspection of the ongoing reconstruction work.
He reviewed the progress across all sections of the stadium, including the general enclosures and the main building.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, including severe cold and fog, Naqvi expressed his satisfaction with the speed at which the project is progressing.
“I am pleased with the progress made so far, and I am confident that the stadium will be ready with state-of-the-art facilities well ahead of the Champions Trophy,” Naqvi remarked during the inspection.
He also took the opportunity to meet with the workers on-site, congratulating them for their hard work.
He instructed the team to maintain their momentum and complete the project within the set timeline.
The Project Director of FWO also briefed the PCB Chairman on the developments, highlighting the commitment to meeting deadlines.
Chief Operating Officer PCB, Sameer Ahmed; Advisors: Aamir Mir; Director of Infrastructure; Director of Domestic Cricket; and officials from NESPAK and FWO were also present on this occasion.
