Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram on Thursday said that he, as of yet, cannot pick a team that is favourite to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020, Daily Jang reported on Thursday.

Akram, the president for the Karachi Kings, said that the tournament was in its early stages and therefore it was too early to make his pick.

"Teams have only played two to three matches and I cannot make a choice based on their performance as of yet," he said.

Meanwhile, the Swing ka Sultan defended the much criticised opening ceremony of PSL 2020, which took place at Karachi’s National Stadium last Thursday, reminding the critics it was the first time that the ceremony took place on home ground and so the event was open to mistakes.

"We are always quick to criticise everything," he said. "It was the first time the ceremony took place on home ground. People need to understand that every major event has its ups and downs," he said.
