Several notable Indian cricketers took to Twitter to condemn the anti-Muslim riots in Delhi that have left 22 dead, and urged for a peaceful resolution.

Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh termed the violence as "heart breaking" and pressed for the higher-ups to take action.

Top-order batsman Rohit Sharma hoped for the situation to be "neturalised soon".

Former batsman Virender Sehwag urged protesters to remain calm, and said that the violence was a "blot" on the capital city.

Meanwhile, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan said that the authorities could no longer be depended upon, adding that people should rather help themselves.
