Peshawar Zalmi star Kamran Akmal on Saturday scored the first century of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.

The wicketkeeper-batsman took a mere 54 balls to reach the three-figure mark against Quetta Gladiators.

It was the third century of Akmal's PSL career, having scored one each in the 2017 and 2018 editions.

No other batsman has scored more than one.

Akmal opened the innings for Zalmi, who were set a modest 149-run target by the Gladiators.

The veteran cricketer was extremely quick off the blocks, and at the end of the first 10 overs, he had scored 83 (38 balls) of his team's total 111 runs.

From that point, he slowed down a bit, narrowly missing out on Cameron Delport's PSL record of the fastest century, which was made off of just 49 balls.

Akmal's ton was laced with 13 fours and a quartet of sixes. He was out the very next ball after completing his century.
