KARACHI: Pakistan's mountaineer Anum Uzair summitted the 12th highest mountain in the world Broad Peak that has the height of 8,051 meters and is located in Karakoram, Pakistan.

Anum, who is from Lahore, became just the second Pakistani female mountaineer to summit the Broad Peak after Naila Kiani.

The Broad Peak is the second 8,000 meter summit of Anam's career as she has already reached Manaslu Peak in Nepal earlier before.

American Pakistani Ammar Butt also summited Broad Peak, both climbers summited Broad Peak under the supervision of Shahroze Kashif and along with them, the 'High Altitude Porter' Ali Akbar and Ali Hoshi reached the peak.

As per the sources, four persons reached the top of Broad Peak at 11:30 on Saturday.

It is worth mentioning that the Broad Peak is approximately five miles from K2, the second highest peak in the world.
