Ubaid, the younger brother of Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah, struck white-ball captain Babar Azam on the chest during a net session on Wednesday.
In a viral video, 18-year-old Ubaid Shah was seen challenging Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman in a practice session. Babar left the first ball, a darting in-swinger on a fourth stump line that pitched on length, but the ball whizzed past the top of the off-stump.
Ubaid held his head in his hands, indicating he had nearly forced Babar into a mistake. He also beat the outside edge of Fakhar, who tried to defend a corker.
The highlight of his intense practice session was perhaps the next ball. Attempting to pull from an awkward length, Babar received a nasty blow to his ribs and writhed in pain after miscuing the shot.

Ubaid was named in the ICC's 2024 Under-19 World Cup Team of the Tournament. He took 18 wickets in six matches, including a sensational five-wicket haul against Bangladesh, helping Pakistan to defend 155 and secure a place in the semi-finals successfully.
It must be noted Pakistan’s jam-packed schedule will begin in August with a two-Test series against Bangladesh at home, which will also be the first red-ball series of newly-appointed coach Jason Gillespie.
England will travel to Pakistan for three Tests in Multan (7-11 October), Karachi (15-19 October) and Rawalpindi (24-28 October), and the West Indies will touch down for two Tests in Karachi (16-20 January) and Multan (24-28 January).
Additionally, New Zealand and South Africa will take part in an ODI tri-series in Multan from 8-14 February.
Apart from the home international fixtures, the men's team will tour Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa from 4 November to 7 January, playing two Tests, nine ODIs and nine T20Is.
