Karachi Kings batsman Sharjeel Khan has said that he wants to "close the chapter on whatever happened in the past" and focus on his career ahead with a "positive mindset".

Sharjeel was banned from all forms of cricket for five years — half suspended — in 2017 for his role in a spot-fixing scandal during the second edition of PSL. He is now set to return for the Kings after serving the ban.

He was picked by Karachi Kings for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020, and Sharjeel is hopeful of giving his best for his side.

“Whatever happened in the past is now a closed chapter and I am focused on future with positive thoughts,” Sharjeel told media in Karachi.

“My career was interrupted during PSL and is resuming through PSL,” Sharjeel said, adding that "I’m focused on doing my best in PSL and want to contribute towards the success of my team.

Sharjeel said he is committed to making a comeback and will perform to best of his abilities.

“I’m also working on my fitness. I want to give a performance that can help me make comeback in national side once again,” he aimed.
