The match between Sri Lanka and Nepal was washed out due to rain and wet outfield in Lauderhill, Florida, on Wednesday.

The incessant rains ensured that the match was called off without toss. Both teams get a point each from this match.

Sri Lanka lost both their games so far and a no-result today leaves them on the brink of exit from the World Cup.

Nepal, on the other hand, suffered defeat in their opening game to Netherlands and find themselves in a tight spot after the washout against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka and Nepal need to win their remaining matches and hope other results go their way in order to stay alive in the tournament.

This result also ensures that South Africa become the first team to make the Super Eights.

Three more matches are set to take place in Florida but things don't look too good for those either. Rain and thuderstorms are predicted week long in Florida. USA will lock hors with Ireland on Friday here and it will be followed by India taking on Canada on 15th and Pakistan facing Ireland on 16th.
