Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by four wickets in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday and fans couldn’t be sadder for Virat Kohli.

Rajasthan didn’t have much trouble while facing the 173-run target as Yashasvi Jaiswal (45 off 30), Riyan Parag (36 off 26) and Shimron Hetmyer (26 off 14) contributed valuable runs which cruised them to victory.

Despite being one of the best players of T20 cricket, Kohli never got his hands on the IPL trophy and the 35-year-old will have to wait for another year to have a shot at the title.

Kohli scored 33 off 24 against Rajasthan which weren’t enough as RCB couldn’t post enough runs on the scoreboard while batting first. The 35-year-old ended his IPL campaign with 741 runs (the most) in 15 innings, which included five fifties and a century.

The fans reacted after RCB’s loss and they expressed their feelings for Kohli

Remember, RCB had lost the first seven of their eight matches of the tournament but their remarkable six-match win streak saw them qualifying for the playoffs after beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in one of the best and most memorable matches of the ongoing edition.

It is worth mentioning that RCB have never won the IPL despite having legends of T20 cricket like Chris Gayle, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Kohli and others.
