U-19 team were under mental pressure: Moin Khan on semi-final loss against India

Former wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan on Tuesday said that the U-19 team were subjected to "mental pressure" which led to India handing them a 10-wicket defeat during the semi-finals of the U-19 World Cup, reported Daily Jang.

According to the Urdu daily, the former captain said that matches against the arch-rivals have always come with added pressure despite having a good team.

"The team was chosen on merit, with the exception of a few, however the team as a whole was good but regardless of that, India was a very well-organised team and it was clear that there was mental pressure involved," he said.

"We need to change that mindset moving forward."

Khan added that the team’s disappointing performance was questionable with the presence of head coach Aijaz Ahmed.

"It put a question mark on Ahmed over the team’s performance, as of now his feedback of the situation is important."
