Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim could feature in the fourth T20I against New Zealand tomorrow in Lahore.

Imad could make a comeback in the side as part of the rotation policy adopted by the team management, according to Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan.

“This is part of the rotation policy, we were told about this before the series. I think he [Imad] might play but I can’t confirm this right now,” Shadab responded when questioned about whether Imad will play the fourth T20I during a press conference on Wednesday.

The left-armer is yet to feature in the ongoing five-match T20I series against New Zealand on home soil.

Imad had decided to take back his retirement from T20I cricket last month ahead of the World Cup this year.

It must be noted that Imad had announced his retirement from international cricket in November last year.

Imad has featured in 66 T20Is in which he has scored 486 runs at a strike-rate of 131.7 and has bagged 65 wickets at an economy-rate of 6.26. He last took the field for Pakistan 12 months ago in Rawalpindi, which is his home ground, against New Zealand.

He performed exceedingly well during the recently-concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, leading his side, Islamabad United, to the title.

Imad, who bagged a historic five-wicket haul in the final of PSL 9 against Multan Sultans, was adjudged player of the match as Islamabad United lifted their first PSL trophy since 2018 and third overall.

Imad also became the first player in PSL history to win Player-of-the-Match awards in all three playoff games.

Imad has been a crucial member of the Pakistan team over the years and was a member of the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning squad. He also played in the 2016 T20 World Cup, 2019 World Cup, and 2021 T20 World Cup.
