Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Gujarat Titans by six wickets in the 32nd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday.
IPL, which is known for its high-scoring clashes, witnessed one of the lowest-scoring matches as both teams scored an aggregate score of 181 runs across two innings.
The Titans were bundled out for just 89 runs in the first innings as DC’s bowling attack dominated their opponents. Rishabh Pant’s side didn't face much trouble chasing the target and they completed it in 8.5 overs, winning the match with 67 balls remaining.
Remember, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the joint-most successful teams in the history of IPL as both sides have won the tournament five times each.
Other than these two, KKR won it twice, while Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Deccan Chargers managed to lift the title once each.
Despite having legendary shorter-format figures like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis and others, Royal Challengers Bangalore never managed to win the title despite playing the final thrice in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
