Islamabad United opener Colin Munro walked off the field in the second over of the Multan Sultan innings during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine final at Karachi's National Bank Cricket Stadium.
The 37-year-old was hit by the drive played by David Willey towards him which hit on the left leg.
Munro didn't feature in both Eliminators United played against Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi. He came in the final in place of Alex Hales.
While talking before the Sultans' innings, the New Zealander said he was not fit and still playing the final.
"I'm not 100% fit but I am fit enough to play tonight. This is my first PSL final so it's special for me," he told commentators.
It is yet to be confirmed whether he will come to bat or not.
It must be noted that Sultans won the toss and elected to bat first. Mohammad Rizwan's men are unchanged while United made two changes.
Apart from Munro playing in place of Hales, Tymal Mills replaced Obed McCoy, who was termed as unfit just before the game.
Islamabad United: Colin Munro, Martin Guptill, Salman Ali Agha, Shadab Khan (c), Azam Khan (wk), Haider Ali, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, Hunain Shah, Tymal Mills
Multan Sultans: Mohammad Rizwan (c & wk), Yasir Khan, Usman Khan, Johnson Charles, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Chris Jordan, David Willey, Usama Mir, Mohammad Ali, Abbas Afridi
Sultans are playing after a gap of four days but Rizwan is confident it will not affect the side.
"Sometimes rest is good, sometimes it isn't. We will play the same brand of cricket that we have played in the last 11 games.
"Islamabad is a strong team but we'll look to execute our plans and continue in the same way," he added.
It must be noted Sultans are playing the final for a fourth consecutive year while United take the field in their first final since 2018.
