Pakistan women's cricket team star Bismah Maroof voiced her opinion that there should be a league like the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for women cricketers.

Bismah, who plays as a middle-order batter, expressed her unhappiness about not having exhibition matches for women cricketers in the ongoing PSL 9.

“There are no exhibition matches for women cricketers in PSL 9, which is disappointing,” Bismah said while speaking to media.

“It is very important for women cricketers to have a league like the PSL. Last year, we had exhibition matches during the PSL and foreign players also participated. It was promised to hold our exhibition matches during the current season of the PSL, but unfortunately, our exhibition matches did not take place.”

She then expressed the importance of playing with foreign cricketers and how much sharing the dressing room with them helps.

“Playing with foreign players provides a great opportunity to learn and sharing the dressing room also benefits, the skills improve, which is why our results improved after that,” she added.

Bismah then went on to talk about the upcoming series against West Indies saying it is of significant importance.

“The series against the West Indies next month is very important. We will try to play according to the momentum created in the tour of New Zealand,” said the 32-year-old.

Remember, the PSL 9 has entered its decisive phase as the race to the eliminators has gone intense where every match is of utmost importance.

The PSL 9 is being held in four cities — Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi — with the final of the event taking place at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18.
