Real Madrid will face Sevilla in their 26th match of La Liga at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday but they have already met multiple setbacks ahead of the encounter.

Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti is having a tough time dealing with injuries this season and the Italian suffered another setback on Friday as on-loan striker Joselu Mato missed the training session.

As per Spanish news outlet COPE, Joselu is not training with the team and remains a doubt for the match against Sevilla as he has been dealing with an ankle issue.

He had been suffering from ankle pain since last week’s encounter against Rayo Vallecano where he scored the first goal but it was assumed that the Spaniard would recover in time and will be fit to face Sevilla at the Bernabeu.

Although he did not train with the team, the 33-year-old did individual work inside the facilities which casts doubts over his availability for Sunday’s encounter.

Joselu has netted 14 goals in 35 matches for the Whites this season. Although he has been used mostly as a substitute, the Spaniard did prove his worth and has reportedly satisfied the club’s management, who are aiming to sign him permanently.

However, Madrid have something to be happy about as key defender Antonio Rudiger completed a training session with the team and will likely play against Sevilla.

Rudiger suffered a bruise on his thigh during a league match against Getafe after which he missed four matches including a Champions League match against RB Leipzig, but everything indicates that the German will be seen taking the field against Sevilla.

Remember, two Madrid players, Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga, will miss the match against Sevilla. The former received a red card during last week’s match against Vallecano while the latter completed five bookings in the league, which resulted in one match suspension.
