Pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming fourth Test against England, commencing on 23rd February due to India's workload management policy.

Jasprit Bumrah will be absent from the fourth Test against England, scheduled to take place in Ranchi from 23rd February.

The fast bowler has been omitted from the squad and did not travel to Ranchi from Rajkot on Tuesday. Bumrah's availability for the fifth and final Test is yet to be determined.

The decision to rest Bumrah aligns with India's workload management policy. Mohammed Siraj also received a rest during the second Test in Visakhapatnam under the same policy.

Bumrah is presently the leading wicket-taker in the series, having claimed 17 wickets in six innings at an average of 13.64.

In another significant setback, KL Rahul will also be sidelined for the fourth Test, and his participation in the final game depends on his fitness.

Mukesh Kumar, who was released by the management for the third Test to participate in domestic cricket for his Ranji team Bengal, is expected to rejoin the squad for the fourth Test.

India is currently leading the five-match series 2-1. Following England's victory in the first Test in Hyderabad, India rebounded with significant wins in the second (by 106 runs) and third (by 434 runs) Tests.

India is also in second place in the World Test Championship Standings with a percentage of 59.52%, while England is languishing near the bottom in eighth place with 21.87%.

India squad for the fourth Test: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (wk), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
