Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma announce birth of second child
The star batter has been out of action due to birth of his child
Indian batting star Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have announced the birth of their second child, a baby boy named Akaay on February 20, Tuesday.
"With abundant happiness and our hearts all of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika's little brother into this world!"
"We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time."
"Love & Gratitude. Virat & Anushka," read the statement from Anushka Sharma on her Instagram post.
Remember, Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married in 2017. The celebrity couple marked their daughter Vamika's third birthday on 11th January 2024.
Notably, in 2021, Kohli prioritised family as the then captain returned home after the first match of a four-Test series against Australia to be with his wife during the birth of their first child.
The Indian star initially opted out of the first two Tests against England, with India losing the first match in Hyderabad and winning the second in Vizag. However, Kohli later withdrew from the entire series, citing personal reasons, with the BCCI supporting his decision
