Peshawar Zalmi has confirmed the partial replacement of Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.

The Afghan cricketer will be unavailable due to national duties and will not be available for Zalmi completely. Emerging pacer Aimal Khan has been confirmed as his replacement.

Zalmi had reserved their pick for Naveen in the Replacement Draft last week. They announced the signing of young pace sensation Shamar Joseph joined Zalmi as he was announced as the partial replacement of England's Gus Atkinson.

Peshawar Zalmi, announcing their replacements, drafted Waqar Salamkheil in the silver category for Lungi Ngidi, who was not available for the whole season.

Fast bowler, Khurram Shahzad will be partially available, with pacer Arshad Iqbal named as his replacement, in the silver category. Gus Atkinson is set to replace Noor Ahmed who is not available to Peshawar Zalmi due to international commitments.

It must be noted that PSL is set to commence on February 17, 2024, at the PCB’s headquarters in Lahore.

The opening match will feature the two-time champions and current titleholders, Lahore Qalandars, facing off against Islamabad United, winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions.

This premier cricketing event will be played across four cities — Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi — culminating in the final at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18. The tournament, featuring six teams, will consist of 34 T20 matches.
