Real Madrid have been targeting Bayern Munich’s left-back Alphonso Davies and the Bavarian club has now decided to counter Los Blancos’ offer, reported renowned German journalist Tobi Altschaffl on Friday.

Bayern will target Madrid’s full-back, Miguel Gutierrez, who has been one of Girona’s top performers in the league and has started the majority of their matches.

Los Blancos are eager to strengthen the right and left-back positions and they see Davies as the primary option to rule Madrid’s left flank for the coming years.

Davies’ contract runs out in 2025 and Bayern are not just willing to offer a new contract, they are also giving high wages but the Canadian has not yet made a decision.

Gutierrez’s contract with Girona ends in 2027 and the possibility of the club selling one of their most important players is non-existent the Catalan club may be forced to sell the 22-year-old if a handsome offer arrives.

Remember, Real Madrid are also keeping an eye on Manchester City’s left-back who’s on loan to La Liga club Girona, Yan Couto, who the Whites can sign for just a €10m fee as he is expected to reject a contract extension.

While Couto has never played for Man City, Los Blancos are expected to face tough competition from the Cityzens as the 21-year-old’s impressive performances this season may make the English club bring him back.

Everything is in Couto’s hands, if he rejects Man City’s contract extension, Girona will make a permanent move for the 21-year-old but Madrid would be willing to counter that offer if Davies’ deal falls apart.

Remember, Real Madrid are currently top of the league with 58 points from 23 matches, they are followed closely by in-form Girona, who are just two points behind them with the equal number of matches.

The two sides are set to collide in a potential title decider on February 10 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
