FC Barcelona have been struggling badly to manage and balance their finances and the option of selling some high earners in the summer window is still wide open.
Barcelona’s Sporting Director, Deco, is leading this strategy and they will consider offers for high-earners in the window.
Deco further confirmed that Barca have no intentions to sell any player but if they did make changes in the squad, that would be to balance the squad.
“We wouldn’t like (having to sell any players) the truth… If we have to make any moves in the squad, they must be moved to balance the squad and to be able to bring other players,” Deco said.
However, despite these remarks, there is a growing belief that some players who were once considered indispensable within the first-team roster no longer carry the same significance.
Similarly, Esport3 asserted that currently, only four players, namely, Gavi, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, and Ronald Araujo, are absolutely untouchable and not for sale in the squad.
It's worth noting that Gavi and Pedri have always been key figures within the team, but Yamal's emergence, particularly this season, has sparked new optimism for Barcelona.
As previously mentioned, Yamal has gained the trust of all the Barcelona players, who are thoroughly impressed by his performances this season.
Araujo, on the other hand, is one of Barcelona’s captains, indicating that the management has high aspirations for him.
Presently, the Uruguayan remains under the watchful eye of Bayern Munich, but Barcelona is working on renewing his contract as they view him as an essential member of the team.
Frenkie de Jong is no longer seen as indispensable within the team. The Dutch international commands the highest salary in the squad and anticipates even higher earnings next season. Consequently, the club is open to entertaining significant offers for him.
Meanwhile, the above-mentioned source also suggests that the doors are not completely shut for players such as Robert Lewandowski, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, or Ilkay Gundogan.
