Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi met with Manchester United owner Avram Glazer in Dubai where the left-handed pacer is currently representing Desert Vipers in the ongoing ILT20 league.
Avram Glazer is a member of the Glazer family. He owns the National Football League (NFL) side Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a majority ownership stake.
Afridi had a brief meeting with Glazer where the two talked about cricket, and football at the end of which the American invited the left-armer to come and visit Old Trafford whenever he wanted.
"If you ever want to come to Old Trafford, we would love to have you there, or American football game if you watch the American football game,” Glazer said during a conversation with the 23-year-old.
Afridi posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, where the two talked for a minute and the American gave a gift to the Pakistani pacer.
“Thank you Avram Glazer. It was great to meet you. Eagerly anticipating attending some Manchester United and Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL games with you and to host you in my beautiful Pakistan,” Shaheen wrote on X.
Remember, Shaheen is currently playing for Desert Vipers alongside his countrymates Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan and Azam Khan.
Afridi has six wickets in five matches, the same as Amir as the two continue to shine with the new ball.
However, despite having a star-studded team, the Vipers are not having a very satisfactory ILT20 campaign. After six matches, they sit at the bottom of the points table with just two wins and four points.
The Vipers have four more matches to play and if they want to remain alive for the eliminators, they need to win their remaining matches.
