UFC legend Chael Sonnen accused WWE icon Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson of using steroids as he finds it hard to believe that the 51-year-old's body is completely natural.
Sonnen has admitted to using drugs during his MMA career in the past. In 2014, he tested positive for Anastrozole and Clomiphene after his therapeutic use exemption (TUE) for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) was cancelled ahead of his UFC 175 fight with Vitor Belfort.
While most fighters in the world deny the rumours of cheating and taking banned substances, Sonnen admitted but he stressed that he informed the relevant authorities of what he took and why.
The Rock has come from a family of wrestlers and the 51-year-old has always insisted that his body is completely natural, but Sonnen doesn't buys this.
“Steroids, which is something The Rock has denied. His father denied, his uncles denied, the whole family’s denied,” Sonnen said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
“In all fairness, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal if you weren’t out there telling people about nutrition and telling people about your diet, telling people about your workouts.”
“As soon as you start doing that and try to influence and motivate and bring people along the journey, but you lie to them about the journey, right?
“I mean, he’s Liver King. You’re Liver King all over again. It’s the exact same thing.”
Liver King, real name Brian Johnson, is a fitness influencer who claimed in the past that he is following an "ancestral lifestyle" which consists of eating raw materials.
However, in 2021, he admitted that he used over $11,000 on steroids every month and apologised for repeatedly denying the use of drugs.
The Rock hasn't said a word about Sonnen's accusations and it would be interesting to see if he even says anything about it or not.
