The five-time World Champions Australia will clash with the Hosts and two-time World Champions India in the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The much anticipated final of the mega-event will be at Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad on 19th November 2023.

It will be a battle of nerves as there is plenty of history between these two sides. Team India has revenge in their mind as they want to take revenge of the 2003 ODI World Cup final and the 2023 World Test Championship final.

Meanwhile, we highlight some key battles between the players of both sides which will be a must-watch for the fans.

Siraj and Bumrah vs Warner and Head:

Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are two of the best new-ball bowlers of this tournament. Since 2022, Mohammad Siraj has taken the most wickets inside the PowerPlay overs of ODI Cricket. In this World Cup, Siraj has taken seven wickets in the PowerPlay overs, while Bumrah has managed to pick five wickets in the first ten overs during this event. Both have kept their economy rate below 5 runs per over.

Meanwhile, Travis Head has the best strike rate in PowerPlay overs of World Cup 2023 among the batters who have scored a minimum of 100 runs. Travis Head has a strike rate of 137 in the PowerPlay overs of this event. David Warner on the other hand strikes at 107.65 in the PowerPlay overs of this year’s World Cup. Both the batters are deadly dangerous and know how to utilise the PowerPlay overs.

The battle between the opening bowlers of India and the opening batters of the Aussies will be mouth-watering and it will be very interesting to see who comes out on top.

Virat Kohli vs Adam Zampa:

Virat Kohli is the highest run-getter of the World Cup while Adam Zampa is the top wicket-taking spinner of the event. Both the players have been in remarkable form and have played a key role for their respective sides.

Adam Zampa has dismissed Virat Kohli 8 times in international cricket. With Zampa’s form and accuracy, it would be very interesting to see how Virat Kohli tackles him as the 35-year-old has been unstoppable in this event.

Virat scored a brilliant 85 against the Aussies in the group-stage encounter between the two sides, so it will be very interesting to see how Zampa bowls to Virat Kohli.

Glenn Maxwell vs Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav:

Known as the Big Show, Glenn Maxwell has been impressive in this tournament. His ability to single-handedly take the game away from the opposition with the bat is incredible.

His double hundred against Afghanistan is something that can scare any bowler. However, Ravindra Jadeja is someone who will be stalking his prey (Glenn Maxwell). Jadeja has dismissed the big show of Australian Cricket seven times in international cricket. Maxwell has been vulnerable to left-arm spinners.

Kuldeep Yadav has also dismissed him three times in ODI cricket. Even in this tournament, he has been dismissed twice by left-arm spinners. So this battle will also be worth watching.

The final will be indeed a house-full show and we can expect a close contest because both teams are heavyweights of the game and none of them would like to be without the coveted trophy.
