Shoaib Malik on Wednesday played his 350th T20 game making him the first Pakistani to join the list of T20 elite cricketers.

Out of the 350, Malik played 111 games for his national team, where he averaged 30+ striking at 124.

“When I first started playing cricket, I never thought I would play 350 games in total, never mind 350 in just one format," said Malik.

"I feel honoured to have been a part of this beautiful game of cricket. When I started my career, T20 cricket didn’t exist, and it makes my proud that I was able to keep my game relevant to the modernization of cricket," he added.

"T20 cricket is exciting, but it is also tough; you often play 2/3 games per week which can be tough on you mentally and physically, and it is important to stay fit so you can endure the pressures of the format.”

The Guyana captain on Wednesday also became the first overseas player to hit 1500 runs in T20 cricket in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) earlier.

With an international cricket career of over 20 years, Malik hit an excellent 67 not out off 37 balls last night. He was also featured in all seven editions of CPL and captained Guyana in 5 out of 5 wins this year.
