Australia captain Pat Cummins is also waiting to watch the ICC Men's World Cup 2023 game between India and Pakistan which is slated for October 14 in Ahmedabad at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium.

Cummins was present at the Captains' Day event along with Pakistan’s Babar Azam, India’s Rohit Sharma, England’s Jos Buttler, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, South Africa's Temba Bavuma, Sri Lanka's Dasun Shanaka and others.

Cummins was asked to share about the outside perspective of the Indo-Pak games by former Indian captain Ravi Shastri.

"There's not too many events around the world where half of the world is tuning in to watch and whenever India plays Pakistan, it seems like one of those moments," he said.

"Although, you are personally not involved but you wanna watch it and hear about all the commentary and passion around the game, it's great it would be in this stadium where we can have more than 100,000 people," he added.

Cummins was also asked to share his side’s preparations to which he said: “ODI format suits Australia more, we have won before and we will try to continue our form.”

The Aussies will be eyeing their sixth ODI World Cup and Cummins is optimistic to claim that.

"Australia have done very well in ODI World Cups over the years. Hoping to do the same this time around."

Australia will play their first game of the competition against India on October 8 in Chennai against the hosts India.
