KARACHI: The wedding ceremony of Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Afridi took place at a local hall in Karachi.

The event was graced by the presence of several notable personalities, including Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

The gathering also saw the presence of cricket stars such as Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sohail Khan.

The wedding festivities of Shaheen Afridi began with a mehendi ceremony on Monday.

Remember, Shaheen tied the knot with legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha, in February earlier this year. The nikkah was solemnised at a local mosque in Karachi in the presence of close relatives of both families.

The valima will be held in Islamabad on September 21. The couple’s engagement had already taken place two years ago.

Earlier this year, while speaking on the Geo News show “Aik Din Geo Kai Sath”, the left-armer revealed that it was his wish to marry Ansha.

"It was my wish and Alhumdulillah [thanks to Allah Almighty] it is fulfilled now," a blushing Shaheen told the interviewer Sohail Warraich.

When Shaheen was asked whether Ansha feels jealous about his female fan following, Afridi said he is not sure about it.

"I am not sure, maybe she feels something like that," the cricketer quipped.

Further, the host asked Shaheen about upsetting plenty of female fans by getting engaged at an early age.

At this, Shaheen said: "I found my heart and that's enough for me."

Shaheen Afridi posts picture with Babar Azam

Earlier today, Shaheen Afridi posted a picture with skipper Babar Azam and has ended speculations of any rift between the two.

There have been various reports suggesting that the duo are not on the same page and had arguments after Pakistan's loss to Sri Lanka in a knockout fixture of Asia Cup 2023 last week.

In a picture posted by Shaheen Afridi on social platform X with Babar Azam, the left-arm pacer wrote 'family' with a heart emoji.
