Pakistan's star footballer and former captain Kaleemullah Khan has joined Iraqi Premier League club Zakho FC.

The 26-year-old forward had signed for Iraq's Al-Najaf FC earlier this year in a four-month deal that is believed to have netted him Rs5 million. He had netted one goal in three appearances for the club.

Kaleemullah has now made Zakho FC his second Iraqi club (h/t FootballPakistan). The terms of the deal, however, are unclear.

The Chaman-born footballer enjoyed a goal-laden career for Khan Research Laboratories from 2009 to 2014, scoring 72 times in 94 appearances.

He left Pakistan in 2014 to play for Kyrgyz club Dordoi Bishkek, for whom he netted 20 goals in 22 matches.

Since then he has largely plied his trade outside Pakistan, barring a loan stint at K-Electric in 2017.
