Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-1 in the semi-final of the ongoing South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U16 Championship in Thimphu, Bhutan on Friday.

The Bengal Tigers will now take on India in the final, which is set to be played on September 10.

Despite Pakistan's constant attacks in the second half, the winners gave their all while defending and made sure that the Men in Green's effort went to waste.

The first half ended with a 2-1 lead for Bangladesh and the score remained the same until the final whistle.

Pakistan had a great start to the match as Abdul Ghani gave his side an early lead by scoring in the sixth minute. But Bangladesh equalised in the 19th minute and the game was even once again.

Bangladesh's Abu Saeed doubled his side's lead in the 29th minute, a goal which cemented their place in the tournament's final.

After winning successive matches in the group stages — 3-0 against Maldives and 2-1 against Bhutan — Pakistan's journey in the SAFF U16 Championship ended after today's close defeat.

Earlier in the first semi-final, India battered Maldives 8-0 with a dominant performance as six different players scored for the Blues.
