Sandeep Lamichhane, the poster boy for the rise of cricket in Nepal, will join his team in Multan for Asia Cup 2023 after his accused rape case trial was deferred until September 7.
As reported by AFP, Sandeep's lawyer Saroj Ghimire confirmed that the cricketer's trial in the accused rape case has been postponed.
"Sandeep will now fly to Pakistan to play," Ghimire told he told the news agency on Sunday.
In the morning on Monday, Lamichhane left Nepal to join his teammates in Multan where Asia Cup 2023's first match is scheduled on August 30.
Nepal Sports Council's (NSC) secretary Tanka Lal Ghising bid farewell to the cricketer.
