UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov has named the hardest puncher he has ever faced in his UFC days.
Khabib, known for his elite grappling ability, did not lose a single fight in his UFC career and retired with a record of 29-0-0.
The Eagle took on some of the toughest fighters, who are specifically known for their hard punches, like Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Michael Johnson, but none of them troubled the Russian.
However, it is Justin Gaethje who has hit him the hardest inside the octagon.
“I think it was Justin Gaehtje, he hit like a truck,” Nurmagomedov said on who hit him the hardest. "He hits like a truck, but it was one thing that broke him."
The Eagle then went on to remember his fight with Gaethje and also revealed his conversation with him inside the octagon.
“When he hit me, I remember it was a right uppercut and left hook. It was his best shot and I told him, ‘Brother, is this everything you have?’
“I like Justin Gaethje and I was talking to him. After this combination, I told him, ‘This is everything you have.’ And at the end of the first round, he started to get tired.
“I told him, ‘This is jetlag because you came to Abu Dhabi one week before the fight. I am here one month.’ I know where I was after one week because it is desert, and you have to be there at least a couple of weeks before the fight.
“Inside the cage I told him, ‘Brother, you have jetlag'."
Khabib announced his UFC retirement after beating Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020 and despite many attempts by the UFC boss Dana White to put him back inside of the octagon, he has no plans to return.
