Former Test cricketer Aqib Javed thinks Zaman Khan is better than Naseem Shah in white-ball format.
Speaking to the media in Lahore on Wednesday, Aqib said there is no best death-overs specialist bowler like Zaman Khan in the world right now.
"In white-ball, I still believe Zaman Khan's skills are above all. We have recently seen him in the Canada league, no bowler is near to him when it comes to bowling in death overs," he said.
"I rate him more than even Naseem. Your first three choices in white-ball cricket must be Shaheen, Haris, and Zaman. I am not saying this because the trio belongs to Lahore Qalandars. You can then go down to Naseem," he added.
Under Aqib's coaching in Qalandars - two-time PSL champions - Zaman proved his worth on the international stage. The young bowler from Chakswari, Kashmir played for Pakistan soon after this year's PSL.
Recently, Zaman represented Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's renowned statistician Mazher Arshad shared the stats of Naseem in death overs, especially in one-dayers.
"Naseem Shah’s economy in overs 41-50 in ODIs is 6.00, the best for any Pakistan bowler in the last couple of years. He has bowled 144 balls and conceded just one six in that phase!" he wrote in reply to Aqib's statement.
Zaman wasn't named in either Pakistan's squad for Afghanistan or Asia Cup Cup.
Pakistan men's team chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, said Zaman's inclusion could have been too early as the youngster lacks experience in playing 50-over format.
"Zaman is too young and he needs some time to get ready for the longer format. He has all the potential and we will keep an eye on him," he explained.
