The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced a 'no-toss' rule for the first time in cricket history, giving away teams the option to bowl first hence eliminating any advantage the home teams enjoy in cricket.

PCB abolished this traditional practice for the upcoming domestic cricket season, since there have been numerous debates over the past few years that the home teams often prepare pitches and mould the conditions to their advantage, making the match one-sided.

Here is what some of the top cricketers think about this new rule.

"The balance between bat and ball will become better [with this rule]. Some teams which want to win the match also try to leave moisture on the ground and gamble the results of the toss. Because of this, such practices will end," said former captain Azhar Ali.

"I think this is a good option for the visitors, maybe you can think of it as hospitality," joked fast bowler Usman Shinwari.

"The home team formulates their squad according to their strengths so it's a good thing that the away team will have this advantage to choose," said skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad.

"The PCB has implemented great rules this season. As a cricketer, every suggestion that we had thought of to give to the PCB, they took all those steps on their own which is great for Pakistan cricket," appreciated opening batsman Fakhar Zaman.

"Its a great thing that the concept of home and away games is coming to domestic cricket. For e.g. if Sindh is going to Punjab, and vice versa, then this should be the best option because the favouritism for the wicket gets nullified," stated pacer Mohammad Amir.

"Sometimes there's grass on the pitches and sometimes they're slow. This is a good sign because the visiting teams can come and decide for themselves. I think all provisional will be making the pitches better due to think and so our cricket will improve," said wicketkeeper-batsaman Mohammad rizwan.

"If you went to play in someones home-place, the teams used to construct pitches according to their needs. This is a new thing and will prove to be beneficial because away teams will have this advantage to play without a toss," said bowler Hasan ali.
