Pakistan's opening pair during the 1992 World Cup, Ramiz Raja and Aamer Sohail, is all set to reunite after a long time.

Ramiz and Aamer have been signed by the broadcasters as commentators for the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Taking to Twitter, Ramiz himself announced his comeback to the commentary world. "'Camera', 'Sound' and 'Action!' Back in the comm box for Pak vs SL series," he shared on July 6.

It will be Ramiz's first commentary assignment after 2021 when he was elected as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. Ramiz remained in the PCB office till December 2022 until Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also the PCB's patron, appointed Management Committee led by two-time former board chairman Najam Sethi.

After being sacked as PCB chairman, Ramiz took a break and remained away from the limelight. But once again, he has decided to come to commentary which was his main job since taking retirement from international cricket

Ramiz and Aamer have often done commentary together but didn't feature together in the comm box in recent times.

Aamer recently called Pakistan vs Afghanistan T20 series in March this year.

Earlier this month, when a new Management Committee led by former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf was appointed, Aamer's name was reported for a key post in the new setup.

However, Aamer refuted all the reports and wished to continue as a cricket commentator and expert.
