The International Cricket Council (ICC) has started considering a possible shift of T20 World Cup 2024 from America and the West Indies.

According to reports, cricket infrastructure in America doesn't meet international standards. Due to the lack of high-class international stadiums in America, hosting the mega event there would be impossible.

ICC has reviewed the situation and started thinking about shifting the next year's event to some other country. The United Kingdom (UK), as per reports, might be given the hosting of the multi-nation event next year.

It must be noted here that T20 World Cup in 2030 will be jointly hosted by England, Scotland, and Ireland. If next year's event is held in the UK, then America and West Indies might host the event in 2030.

Atul Rai, the former chairperson of USA Cricket, also said that hosting the mega tournament in America at this moment is impossible.

"America needs some time to get ready for mega cricket events," said Rai. "It depends on ICC now, whether they invest in building international standard stadiums in America or shift the event somewhere else," he concluded.
