FC Barcelona beat Wolfsburg to win UEFA Champions League

FC Barcelona women's team have defeated Wolfsburg to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2023 with a scoreline of 3-2.

Barcelona, who were trailing by two goals by the end of the first half, made a stunning comeback as they scored three goals within 25 minutes.

Ewa Pajor opened the account for Wolfsburg in the third minute of the game while Alexandra Popp doubled her team’s lead in the 37th minute.

The Catalan club started the second half strongly as Patricai Guijarro scored two goals for her team just five minutes after the kick-off of the second half.

Fridolina Rolfo completed the comeback for the Catalan club as she scored at minute 70 to finally put FCB ahead of Wolfsburg for the first time in the game.

FCB registered seven shots on target while the German club registered six. Barca also dominated the game with 66% possession.

With eight UCL titles, Olympique Lyonnais women have won the tournament for the most number of times. Both Wolfsburg and Barcelona have won the tournament two times.

It must be noted that FC Barcelona are the only club to win both the Men's and Women's Champions League

Earlier, Barcelona's men's team won La Liga for the 27th time in the club’s history. This was Barca’s first league title since 2019.

Robert Lewandowski netted 23 goals to help his team win the league title. FCB will play their last league game against Celta Vigo away. With a win against the hosts, they can finish the league with 91 points.

They have scored 69 goals and conceded only 18 goals in the league till now
