Former Olympians wish good luck to Pakistan team for final against India

Former Olympians wished good luck to Pakistan's junior team for their final against arch-rivals India today in Asia Cup in Oman. 

Shakeel Abbasi praised Pakistan team for playing competitive hockey throughout the tournament. 

"Pakistan have so far played good hockey. They need to continue the momentum and stay calm during their match against India," he said in a video message released by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) today. 

One of the greatest Pakistani hockey players Kaleemullah also prayed for the success of Pakistan hockey team against the neighbours. 

"My prayers and best wishes are with the Pakistan team. I hope they win the final today," he said. 

Former hockey player Rehan Butt lauded Pakistan team's efforts and expressed confidence in national team's triumph in the Asian event. 

In the ongoing Junior Asia Cup, Pakistan won four matches including the semi-final against Malaysia, and drew one against India to qualify for the final of the Asian event. They will play against their arch-rivals India in the final today.

It must be noted here that Pakistan team players haven't received their daily allowance so far in the ongoing Asian event.

The PHF had requested Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for funds numerous times before departing for the tournament, Geo News reported today.

The PHF also paid for tickets and accommodation of the squad out of its own pocket.
