Sarfaraz Ahmed named mentor of Pakistan Showbiz XI for California Cup
The tournament, which is being played for the last 13 years, will start from tomorrow
Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has joined Showbiz XI as their mentor for the upcoming California Cup in the United States (US).
Sarfaraz, who led Pakistan to their maiden Champions Trophy triumph in 2017, has reached the US alongside the Showbiz team.
The Showbiz XI will be led by the veteran Pakistani actor Kamran Jilani. Prominent names from the entertainment industry including Humayun Saeed, Fakhr-e-Alam and Faizan Khan will represent Pakistan Showbiz XI during the event.

Sarfaraz is one of the successful captains of Pakistan. He remained Pakistan team captain from 2016 to 2019. Under his captaincy, Pakistan won its first-ever Champions Trophy in 2017. Also, he led Pakistan to record 11 consecutive T20I series wins.
He lost his captaincy after Pakistan were whitewashed in the T20I series against Sri Lanka in Lahore in 2019. He was also dropped from the team in the same year.
Moreover, the wicketkeeper batter also captained Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2019.
