Spanish football club Real Madrid will look to sign Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane if Karim Benzema decides to leave the club this summer.

According to Spanish news outlet COPE, everyone at Madrid loves Kane and the coaching staff believes that he is "a truly elite player".

However, Real Madrid’s decision to sign Kane will also depend on the availability of Paris Siant-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

“Real Madrid’s board has a concern about signing a player like Harry Kane: What if Mbappe becomes available next summer?” COPE added.

Kane became the first player to score in 25 different matches in a 38-game Premier League in the 2022-23 season.

The 29-year-old has notched up 307 goals and 80 assists in 514 club appearances, so far, over the course of his career.

Additionally, Real Madrid have also asked Benzema, whose contract expires this summer, to decide his future quickly as they plan to move fast for an elite striker if he leaves.

The Spanish media has also reported that there is an offer from Saudi Arabia of 200 million euros for Benzema and he can sign a contract for two seasons.

It must be noted that Real Madrid are currently in second place in La Liga after losing the title to FC Barcelona.

The Los Blancos were also knocked out in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League at the hands of English champions Manchester City.

However, Carlo Ancelotti's men earned their 20th Spanish Cup at La Cartuja in their 40th final, ending a nine-year wait to lift the trophy again, against Osasuna.
